Jo Price – Founder
Jo has been working in health and education for over 25 years and is committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. She is inspired by the innocence, energy, curiosity, joy and happiness that children and young people bring to the world and has created the awesome Amazing Minds programme that is super easy and fun to deliver and gets exceptional results time and time again.
Qualified in Homeopathy, Hypnosis, Mindfulness and Solution Focussed Therapy, Jo is experienced and committed to helping others find the right tools to secure optimum health and happiness. She is a powerhouse of change and a beacon of light that is known for her positivity, determination, quirkiness and innovation creating awesome outcomes and empowering children, young people and adults through teaching and learning.
Setting up the Amazing Minds Centre for Learning has been the catalyst for growth and change as Jo is passionate about delivering high quality accredited training programmes to fabulous adults who are dedicated to helping children and young people secure happy healthy growth mindsets.
Lorraine Millard – Mindfulness Expert, Tutor and Supervisor
Lorraine Millard is a UKCP accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor; she has qualifications in Dramatherapy, Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Supervision and has been in practice and working for the NHS, voluntary agencies and education for over 30 years.
Lorraine has worked as a trainer and written and delivered courses for trainee Counsellors and Psychotherapists for over 20 years. Recently she co-wrote and delivered the first supervision courses for both adult and child counsellors and therapists. Lorraine has specialised in the areas of training and development and delivered training in sexual abuse, trauma, creativity and transpersonal psychology.
She currently works in her private practice based in Canterbury, Kent and is employed as the Mindfulness Lead for the University of Kent, writing and running courses for students and staff across several departments. Lorraine has been working with the University of Kent Academies Trust delivering mindfulness programmes for staff and developing courses for students for over 10 years.
She has been a mindfulness teacher for 12 years and has run over 200 mindfulness courses in education, the NHS, Fire Service and many other private and voluntary agencies. Lorraine runs regular mindfulness drop-ins and has seen over 1,000 adults and young people offering a range of programmes, courses and short tasters - bringing mindfulness to the masses for many years.
Lorraine is co-author of two books; Mindfulness and Wellbeing for Student Learning and Sheldon Mindfulness: Stress with Philip Cowell as well as writing several mindfulness courses and papers.
Fiona Worthy - Tutor
Fiona Worthy has always been interested in helping people to learn new ideas and skills. She has qualifications in teaching, as a headteacher and as an executive coach, from the Association of Executive Coaching (AoEC), and has spent over thirty years working in education, most recently in the charity sector and for government overseas. During that time she has coached people of all ages helping them to achieve their personal and academic goals. Her work has always been focussed on helping people to realise their ambitions.
She is currently working as a leadership development consultant using coaching strategies to support and empower leaders in organisations so that they can build effective and high performing teams.
Through coaching, and the work of Amazing Minds, Fiona is really excited to be able to bring together skills and knowledge learnt through teaching and coaching to help all learn how to be their best self. As a highly skilled and passionate coach, she is focused on bringing the core principles and practices of coaching to the Amazing Minds training programme.
Fiona is always excited about empowering our adult learners to be the best Amazing Minds Coaches possible, bringing a genuine warmth and patience to her coaching sessions.
Sonia Modeste - Tutor and Supervisor
Sonia Modeste is a BACP registered Counsellor Psychotherapist, Group Worker and Supervisor. Sonia holds an MSc in Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy from Roehampton Institute University of Surrey, where she focused on the development of therapists. Sonia has been in practice for over 30 years with breaks to focus on raising her family. During this time, she took a mindfulness course to help her professional and personal development. When raising neurodiverse children, she fell in love with the power of mindfulness as a lifestyle choice and a way of regulating emotion.
Sonia has a love for learning and helping others find their purpose through coaching and counselling. Sonia worked as a senior lecturer at The Institute of Education University of London on the Post Graduate Diploma. She went on to tutor, supervise, and facilitate large and medium sized personal development groups for the Diploma in group work and person-centred counselling at City Literary Institute London. She set up a number of not-for-profit therapeutic services for women, children, and families and worked directly with adults, children, youth justice and pupil referral units.
Paula Knight - Tutor
Paula Knight MSc embarked on a career in education over 20 years ago and has strived to complete a journey filled with opportunities to shape lives, foster growth, and create inclusive environments. She holds an MSc and has the combined roles of a trained teacher, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), the path is very dynamic and rewarding. These roles intertwine, each bringing its own set of challenges and triumphs, but together they offer a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on young people's lives.
As a SENDCo she advocates for students with special educational needs and disabilities. The role is crucial in ensuring that every young person has access to quality education to meet their individual needs, her role as a DSL is one of immense responsibility, overseeing safeguarding within her school, ensuring the well-being of young people is prioritised and that the school is a safe place for everyone. She believes in supporting students’ well-being, dedicating many years in helping to shape the future, for one young person at a time.
